After beating Stoke City 2-0 away on Monday night, Manchester City now needs two more wins to seal the Premier League title.
Back-to-back away league wins for the first time since December, and a first double in this fixture since 1998-99, takes Pep Guardiola's men 16 points clear at the summit with eight games to go. If City beat Everton next after the international break, then they can win the title at the Etihad against their city rivals, Manchester United.
“I understand that it is important to our fans to win it against United but the target is the next game at Everton. After that, if we play like today sooner or later we will be champions," Guardiola said after the game.
Considering Guardiola’s bitter history against Jose Mourinho in La Liga and now the Premier League, the Manchester derby on 7th April will for sure be a mouthwatering fixture!
