Antonio Conte insists that his side must dig deep when they face Barcelona on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Champions League clash, the Chelsea boss said, “We must be prepared to suffer in this type of game. Because when you play against this type of team, one of the best teams in the world, you must be prepared to suffer.”
The Godfather continued, “It won't be easy. But we have to try. We have to try the best solution to face this game."
Conte further admitted that his side is not as well versed in the European competition as their opponents by adding, “Experience is always important. When you play a game in the league, when you play in the Champions League, FA Cup, in every game experience is very important.”
The Italian concluded, “We have many players who need experience - Andreas Christensen, Tiemoue Bakayoko, we have a lot of players playing for the first time or the second time in the Champions League. We have to work as a team and to try to be ready. At any moment we have to know we have the chance to go and score.”
Chelsea will indeed have their hands full when they travel to Camp Nou to square off against the Spanish giants. The English side are, however, by no means a walkover and will undoubtedly be ready to fight to the last whistle for a place in the next round.
