Gonzalo Higuain has claimed that Premier League clubs always leave gaps at the back.
Juve came from a goal down to claim a 2-1 win over Spurs on Wednesday night, progressing with 4-3 victory on aggregate. Higuain claims his side knew Tottenham’s defensive failings would offer them opportunities. The Italian side responded well in the second leg after giving up a 2-0 lead at home in the first leg of round of 16 tie. Goals from Higuain and Paulo Dybala in a span of three minutes saw them seal a place in the quarter finals.
"It was a very difficult match against a great side like Tottenham, who always give their best and are aggressive, but we know English teams always leave gaps at the back and would give us opportunities," Higuain told Mediaset Premium.
"We had to make the most of them and we did. I'm very happy with this win, as a comeback at Wembley is not easy. I am proud of this team and of the medical staff, who worked so hard to get me in shape for this game." he added.
Hosts' fullback Kieran Trippier acknowledged that the tactics of Juventus stifled Spurs in north London.
