Neymar has filed a £26 million lawsuit against Barcelona.
The Brazilian international left the Catalans joining Paris Saint Germain in a world-record switch. Neymar’s exit saw the relationship between the two parties fall and now Neymar claims he is owed his former club. As reported by El Mundo, the 25-year-old believe he is still owed £23m from the renewal bonus, plus a further 10 percent in interest.
On the othe end, Barca maintain they are owed money by their former player, amounting to a staggering £65m. It is suggested they have not been paid from the first part of the renewal bonus in the same contract.
It began to take shape last August when Barca refused to pay the second part of the player's renewal premium after learning he had decided to move to PSG. Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, believed the payment should not be sanctioned as the player had already decided to leave the club.
The La Liga giants have taken the stance that the player, who penned an extension until 2021, has unilaterally breached the terms of the contract.
