Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to sign a new £65m contract to continue his stay with the English giants.
Inside sources claim that the Special One has impressed United’s top brass since taking over the club in May 2016 and that the bigwigs want to reward the tactician’s stellar record with the lucrative five-year extension.
Mourinho’s initial deal with the Red Devils was set to keep the former Chelsea chief at Old Trafford until 2019, with an optional one-year extension. Should the Portuguese sign the contract, then it will effectively be his longest tenure with a single club.
The 54-year-old is already the best-paid manager in football today, raking in a whooping £250,000 every week alongside Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. The new deal is rumoured to be planning to significantly raise Mourinho’s incentive package though the wages are likely to remain the same.
