2018 WCQ: Kenyan, Caf best referee handed Egypt-Congo tie

World football body, Fifa has released the list of referees to officiate the much awaited world cup qualifier between Egypt and Congo.

The match will be played on Sunday 8 October at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria. Celebrated Gambian referee Papa Gassama Bakary will be in-charge of the match. 

Gassama was earlier in the year named Africa best referee for the second year running.

He will be assisted by Burundi's Jean Claude Birumushahu and Aden Marwa Range from Kenya as first and second assistants.

Sallah Omari from Gambia and Badara Diatfa have been appointed the referee's reserve and assessors respectively. 

Yonis Mohamed Yacin from Djibouti will be the match commissioner. Egypt lead group E with nine points going into match day five, two ahead of Uganda while Ghana follow with five and Congo with only one.
