FC IfeanyiUbah skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has said losing 1-0 to Enugu Rangers in a matchday 26 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League, was a fair result.
Ezenwa however expressed disappointment with the result, saying they deserved at least a draw against Rangers.
-We know that Rangers are a good side and do not forget that we have met them three times whereby we beat them twice and drew once before this match.
-But it is not a bad result considering the pedigree of Rangers in Nigeria football league, he said.
Ezenwa disclosed that they came to Enugu to pick the three points and at worst get a draw but they were not lucky to make it reality.
-Well, this is not the end of the league. We are going to keep fighting for the remaining points in the league.
-Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and today we lost. So, let’s just say we gave Rangers the respect as the defending champions, he said.
Striker Ifeanyi George made the difference in the match when he scored in the 34th minute against the visitors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu in the matchday 26 game on Wednesday.
Rangers now occupy the 12th position on the NPFL log with 35 points from 26 matches.
