Kano Pillars defeated MFM FC 3-1 in the Nigeria Professional Football League played in Kano on Sunday.
Pillars went ahead in the 12th minute when Rabiu Ali converted from the penalty spot.
MFM drew level, thanks to Stephen Odey’s equalizer that gave him his 15th goal of the season.
The game took a dramatic turn on the final 15 minutes as Pillars, under pressure to get three points, intensified their attack.
With six minutes from time, one of the smallest men on the pitch, Amos Gyang, heads Pillars in front, to the disappointment of MFM who seemed to be cruising to earning a point from home.
Pillars took a comfortable position when Adamu Mohammed scored at added time to extend their lead to 3-1 at the sound of the final whistle.
The win takes Kano Pillars to the 9th place on the league table, with 37 points from 25 games, while MFM dropped to 3rd place with 40 points from 25 matches.
