Enyimba FC labored to a 1-0 win over table toppers Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League week 22 match played in Calabar.
Andrew Abalogu’s second half strike was all that made the difference in the touch contest.
After a barren first half, Odafe Emmanuel thought he has put Plateau United 1-0 up but the assistant referee’s flag had earlier gone up for an offside.
As the encounter became tougher, captain Mfon Udoh was replaced by Joseph Osadiaye in the 61 st minute.
The People’s Elephant then took the lead in the 69th minute as Abalogu's scorching effort from 20 yards beat Dele Ajiboye who got a hand to it but could not keep the ball out.
Abalogu was however stretchered off with seven minutes remaining and his place is taken by Gbadebo.
Plateau United maintained their top spot on the league table as second place El Kanemi lost 2-1 to Wikki Tourists, while Enyimba now increased their points to 34.
