Kano Pillars beaten as Plateau retain top spot

Plateau United fought to a 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars to retain the top place on the table of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

An early goal from Ibeh Johnson in the 15th minute puts the league leaders Plateau United in front, and Pillars were unable to come back, going into the break.

After half time, Pillars pile pressure, with attacks from Balogun Kabiru, Ali and Gambo Mohammed meeting the coordinated defense of the Jos team.

Plateau United doubled the score to secure a comfortable 2-0 win over an organised Kano Pillars side.

The victory is Plateau United’s 7th of the season from 13 games, taking them to 25 points, one above close rivals El Kanemi who were held to a goalless draw by Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
